Antique Victorian Westclox Chreub & Griffin Mantel Alarm Clock

Antique Victorian Westclox Chreub & Griffin Mantel Alarm Clock ca. 1910. Rare alarm model cast iron Victorian Westclox mantel clock with gilt finish in very good used condition. The clock is approx. 1 0" tall and 8-1/2" wide with a cherub face at the top;the clock face is approx. 3” in diameter with griffin faces on either side. The clock sets, winds up, runs, and keeps goodtime!  The clock may need to be rocked back and forth to get it started running, but will run about 13 hours on a full wind.  The alarm winds, but doesn’t seem to tighten as you wind.  The alarm will ring [somewhat weakly] when the alarm time setting knob is rotated.  The original alarm time setting knob was missing and replaced by soldering a wingnut on the post (see photo 4).  The original paper clock face is surprisingly clean with just 2 dark spots at the 2 o’clock and 3 o’clock positions (see photo 5). This wonderful clock is being sold as-is.  There is no guarantee it will continue running as it has been.  A good general cleaning/servicing with likely solve the alarm issue and reward the owner with years of running well.
