Up for auction/sale is a
vintage CYMA AMIC brass travel alarm clock with a wood tone band around the
circumference sitting upon a atomic styled rocket sled base. I can't date this
clock specifically, but for the variety of examples I found with the Modele
Depose Intern (roughly translated as: Patent Pending), referenced the 1950s and
1960s. The clocks mechanics run
great, it has a strong wind mechanism, the alarm work well, and the clock keeps
good time. The clock has an independent thumb wheel for alarm and time, has a time
(+/-) speed adjustment lever, and has an alarm cancel on the crown. As with any
aged brass, there is some light tarnishing, but I see no signs of corrosion. The crystal shows some light signs
of age and wear, along with a light scratch located near the seven (7) (see
images), but the face is clearly visible. The wood tone surround the
circumference of the clock shows signs of age and wear. The clock face looks good,
but it appears the phosphorescent material has broken down leaving a dusty
appearance and it no longer glows in the dark. The rough overall measurements are 2 1/2" tall x 2 3/8" wide, and 1 1/4" deep (front to back). I have described this clock
as best I can, but to augment my description I have provided several high
resolution images from varying angles to allow for a detailed review of
quality, condition, and desirability. This will be packaged with
care to best ensure this Atomic era design travel clock arrives as pictured and
described. If you have any questions, additions,
corrections, or concerns, feel free to message me.
