One vintage robot figure radio and alarm clock. This 9" tall Robot clock radio was made in Hong Kong and is powered by two AA batteries. It receives AM radio only (guess that's all they had back then) with a very squelchy and spacey sounding search function of the tuning dial. Reception is just okay. The clock is a wind-up and produces a nice steady ticking sound and is also functional. Accuracy undetermined. Alarm works but is spotty, having
a loud blaring steady single alarm tone sure to wake any sleeper on its first test and just a short bleep of the same tone the second time. On the third test, it was back to the loud blaring alarm tone. Best two out of three? Robot has beady red eyes and space saucer ears and a spike on top of its head, and arms that can be posed. It is made of silver and black plastic. The chest features a clock by Equity with a shiny metallic blue face and surround having white early digital style numbers and lightning bolts at the corners! The clock face is covered by the intact and uncracked clear plastic chest shield. Station dial is loose and tends to fall off but can be glued back on. Volume dial seems to have three settings, soft, loud and very loud.
From the 1960s or 70's. Needs a good dusting off, sold as is. Apparently, not many of these made it over to the States, back in the day, very hard to find. Wow, I may have to keep this one after all...Just found the space super squelch effect that is out of this world, while dialing in between the stations, it went glitchfest! Alert, alert, all into Glitchtronics...This one's for you! Hey, this is fun.................
