Vintage Pokemon Pikachu "Alarm" Clock Tested: Time is in working order, Sound does Not work.

Requires 2 AA Batteries.(NOT INCLUDED)
Clock's time is in working condition, hands move as they should
***BUT***
***THE ALARM PORTION OF THE CLOCK DOES NOT GO OFF, SO THERE IS NO SOUND.***
I'm unsure if it can be fixed to make sound,  it may be easily fixed but I'm not sure how to do so.
Battery compartment is clean but does have some wear.
***ALSO***
***THE DOOR TO THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT HAS A SMALL BROKEN PIECE WHICH IS TAPED INTO PLACE***
